Not Just a Bucket

Each day we wake up we are obligated to do the chores. In what  ever job we do where it me a housewife, industrial, hospital or food industry we need to clean up.
I want you to think of this bucket that we do our best clean ups as "Not just a bucket"

When I was a child this was indeed a very big bucket . Carrying this 500 pound thing
(so I thought it was )  around our home was such a task. With ten kids and two adults,
you bet your sweet Bippy this house got crazy dirty. We had no carpet so the floors
were constantly  dirty  with , leaves, dust, and fingerprints. But mom was the  wisest and
had us clean from one end of the house to the other.
This dreaded chore so I thought would never come to an end.

Of course little did I understand that this bucket would carried through out my
whole life.  Even' if I did not fully understand at the age of seven, this bucket
would mean so much more.
My mother did notice that when it came to cleaning the house this little girl
would have a fret upon her face. All I could see was this big bucket and all
the rooms in the house. Which was 10 rooms altogether.
Mother then would explain to me why this job was so important. With stern
and caring eyes she would unfold my arms and hug me, tell me that first we
needed to look at the bucket. She said this bucket is round. And it is has lost
it's shine. But still this bucket carries more than it's weight in water. The water
was once clean. Each time we are mopping the floors, they too were once dirty
and now are clean. We have a chance each day to make this happen. Each day
we have another try at keeping our home clean. We should be thankful that we
have a home.
That the Lord provided a roof for our safety. That we have tile floors to walk
on instead of no floors at all. We should be thankful that we have beds to sleep
on and sweep under.
We should be thankful for work we are given it helps us appreciate what we have.
This  bucket has been emptied each day and new water has been put inside. Think
of this bucket ,like yourself.
We too are a home. We sometimes get dirty inside and we have a way to clean
ourselves, not only with water but threw repentance. Each day we get too try again.
Each day we can be thankful for all that we have. Then she reminded me that this
bucket is also a service bucket.it helps us be happy when we help our families, it
can also help others who  cannot clean there homes themselves. When we do service
we are in the service of our Lord. Oh this is not just a bucket, it is Love filled with
water everyday.
So in this wise remarkable bucket I now have in my home, is filled with dirty water.
It reminds me each time, of all the things i am thankful for.
I am happy to be a housewife, house mother, house grandma.  I am glad my Lord
has faith in me too do the service for my family and others. To not shirk my duties
and be proud that I can serve him each day. This bucket can remind me that each day
we can be renewed. Each day we can be forgiven, each day our home inside can be
filled with clean water. And even if our floors get dirty, we can  learn how to clean
them a bit bettereach day. No,  this is not just a bucket, it is Love.
